Icelandic swimmer Snæfríður Sól Jórunnardóttir advances to semifinals at Paris 2024 Olympics

Icelandic swimmer Snæfríður Sól Jórunnardóttir secured a place in the semifinals of the women’s 200-meter freestyle at the Paris 2024 Olympics this morning. Despite finishing the semifinals 15th and being 47 hundredths of a second away from her personal best, she remains optimistic, stating that she believes she has more to offer and can improve her time.

“I felt good during the first hundred meters, but the last hundred weren’t good enough,” Snæfríður commented after her qualification. She initially swam faster than her record set just last month.

“This was a bit of a disappointing time, but I get another chance and I’m happy about that,” she added. Snæfríður will compete in the semifinals tonight at 19:50 local time, expressing her determination to achieve a better time.
