Faroese housing authority orders detailed survey of Eirargarður 2 after neighbour concerns
A planned residential building in Tórshavn, Eirargarður 2, will undergo a detailed structural assessment after nearby properties raised concerns about its impact, Faroese broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya reports.
The public housing agency Bústaðir confirmed the decision, stating that residents in adjacent buildings—Eirargarður 4, 6, and 8—had objected, arguing the new development would negatively affect their living conditions. The agency’s director acknowledged the situation at Eirargarður 2 as “different” from initial assumptions.
Construction of the 45-unit complex was originally set for completion by the start of the academic year. The survey will determine whether modifications are required before work can proceed.
