Third suspect charged in Oslo fatal shooting
A Norwegian man has been charged with complicity in the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old man in Oslo’s Økern district, police announced in a statement on Thursday, Dagbladet reports.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, denies criminal responsibility, according to his defence lawyer, Moamel Ali Al-Shimmeri. “He does not admit guilt,” Al-Shimmeri told the newspaper, declining further comment. The man will appear in Oslo District Court on Thursday at 13:00 for a custody hearing.
Two Swedish teenagers, aged 15 and 16, were previously charged in connection with the case. The newly charged suspect is over 18.
The shooting took place on the evening of 26 April, when multiple shots were fired in Økern, eastern Oslo. The victim, initially reported in critical condition, was later declared dead. Police previously described the killing to Dagbladet as a “pure execution,” with the victim shot in the head.
The two Swedish teens were arrested in Sweden earlier this week in connection with a separate shooting incident in Norrköping, where they are also charged with attempted murder. Authorities have not confirmed whether the cases are linked.
