Singing in a dementia choir brings back memories for participants
A dementia choir in the Danish town of Tarm has become so popular that a waiting list has been introduced, DR reports during this year’s national Dementia Awareness Week.
Lars and Ingrid, two members of the choir, say the experience helps them recall long-forgotten memories. “Many memories come forward,” they explain.
The choir’s success highlights growing interest in music-based activities for people living with dementia, as communities across Denmark mark Dementia Awareness Week.
