Police in Helsinki have arrested a young man in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred in the city center on Wednesday night. According to the lead investigator, the suspect was born in the early 1990s.

The stabbing took place at the intersection of Läntinen Teatterikuja and Bergbominkuja, near Kaisaniemi Park, late Wednesday evening. Initial reports suggested the incident occurred in Esplanadi Park. Authorities received a report just before midnight stating that a person had been stabbed in the abdominal area with a sharp object.
