Two teens propose plan to restore Denmark’s Vejlefjord
A project to restore the ecological health of Vejlefjord was among 100 entries competing at Denmark’s largest youth science fair, Unge Forskere, held Wednesday in Odense, reports DR.
Maddox and Kristian, two junior participants, presented their initiative “Save Vejlefjord,” which aims to address environmental challenges facing the fjord. Their proposal was one of many competing for top honours in the national contest for primary and secondary school students.
The junior category winner was 14-year-old Helena Binzer, who developed a new screening tool for endometriosis, a condition affecting reproductive health.
Unge Forskere (Young Researchers) is Denmark’s largest annual science competition for school students, showcasing projects across natural sciences, technology, and environmental studies.
