Sweden’s Liberal Party leader Simona Mohamsson was unable to list the country’s four fundamental laws during an appearance on public broadcaster SVT’s new programme Fördomsshowen (The Prejudice Show).

Mohamsson, who has served as Sweden’s minister for education and integration since June 2025, admitted she “probably should have been part of a citizenship test like this” after failing to recall the laws beyond the first two: the Instrument of Government and the Act of Succession.

The programme, hosted by journalist Emil Persson, challenges party leaders to confront common prejudices about them. Mohamsson also faced assumptions that she lacks historical knowledge and does not understand basic measurements like a hectare.

“No, I probably couldn’t buy a hectare with a clear conscience,” she said when asked about the unit of land measurement.

“She probably hasn’t even had a job”

Mohamsson discussed her own experiences with prejudice, including claims that she was not the first choice for party leader. “A lot of people say that. It’s kind of hard to escape,” she said.

She added that many assume she “hasn’t had a job or been a manager” and that she simply “walked in through an open door” to her leadership role. “That’s not how it happened,” she said.

The episode of Fördomsshowen is available on SVT Play and airs on SVT 1 on Friday at 22:00 local time.
