A striking light display was captured on video over Vikebukt in Vestnes municipality, Møre og Romsdal, on Wednesday evening, Dagbladet reports.

Trond-Einar Walle, 42, and his partner Hilde filmed the phenomenon after spotting it from her home. “I was just here at Hilde’s house when I saw the light in the sky,” Walle told the newspaper. “I ran inside and shouted, ‘Come and see!’ Then she came running out.”

The couple recorded the event on a mobile phone before submitting the footage to Dagbladet. Walle described the light as lasting roughly one minute. “I was already outside when I noticed it—pure coincidence,” he said. “You don’t usually stare at the sky all the time.”

The observation follows similar reports earlier this week in central Norway, where media outlet VG suggested the lights were likely linked to a SpaceX rocket launch for the Starlink satellite network. Since 2019, SpaceX has deployed thousands of communication satellites as part of its Starlink constellation. According to the Norwegian Space Centre, these satellites can appear as a “string of pearls” across the sky roughly 24 hours after launch.

When asked about their reaction, Walle replied: “We didn’t think much—just focused on filming it.”
