A mix of dust and airborne pollution from southern Europe is moving toward Norway, though only small amounts of Sahara sand are expected, according to meteorologists, Dagbladet reports.

Vakthavende meteorolog Magnus Ovhed at the Norwegian Meteorological Institute described the current conditions as a “grumbling atmosphere,” with southerly winds carrying dust and pollutants from southern Europe. The particles may appear as haze on the horizon in the coming days.

Meanwhile, spring-like temperatures are forecast across much of the country. Southern Norway will see mild weather dominated by southerly winds, bringing rain—particularly to the Sørlandet region—while northern and eastern areas can expect clearer skies and sunshine.

Oslo and eastern Norway are predicted to experience the warmest conditions, though inland areas of western Norway may also see higher temperatures. Trondheim is expected to reach around 14°C midweek, climbing toward 17°C by the weekend, while Tromsø will hover around 12°C with a slight dip on Wednesday.
