Fire destroys commercial building in Inari’s Näätämö as blaze captured on traffic camera

A commercial building in Näätämö, Inari, is engulfed in flames after a major fire broke out on Saturday evening, Finnish public broadcaster Yle reports. The blaze was recorded by a Fintraffic road weather camera.

Lapland Emergency Services received an alert about the fire at 7:25 PM local time. Five emergency response units have been dispatched to the scene, supported by two additional units and a paramedic team from Norway’s Kirkkoniemi, just across the border.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, and authorities have not yet confirmed whether the building was occupied at the time. Updates are expected as the situation develops.
