Car fire breaks out on Helsinki’s Mannerheimintie during rush hour
A passenger car caught fire on Friday afternoon on Mannerheimintie, one of Helsinki’s main thoroughfares, Finnish public broadcaster Yle reports. The blaze was extinguished quickly by a single emergency response unit.
The fire started while the vehicle was in motion during evening rush hour near the Lasipalatsi building in central Helsinki. When firefighters arrived, the car was already fully engulfed in flames, according to Helsinki Rescue Services.
The cause of the fire remains unknown. No injuries were reported, and authorities confirmed that bystanders were not in danger at any point.
