Faroese energy company forced to buy more expensive oil after receiving substandard shipment
The Faroese energy company SEV has been compelled to purchase more expensive emergency oil supplies for its Sund power plant after receiving a shipment of fuel with unusual properties, national broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya reports.
A company spokesperson confirmed that the substandard oil has caused operational disruptions, including one employee falling ill and increased pressure on power plant staff. The incident has forced SEV to procure alternative fuel at higher market rates to maintain production.
No further details were provided about the origin of the problematic shipment or the nature of its irregularities.
