Technical fault disrupts Yle’s regional TV news broadcasts

A technical error caused Finland’s national broadcaster Yle to air the same regional news bulletin across all areas on Thursday afternoon, the company reported.

According to Yle, the fault occurred in the automated distribution system at 3:50 PM local time, resulting in Uusimaa’s regional news being broadcast nationwide instead of the intended local programmes. Engineers resolved the issue during the transmission.

Missed regional broadcasts will be available later on Thursday via Yle Areena, the broadcaster’s on-demand service.
