A majority of political parties in the Faroe Islands’ parliament have agreed in principle to a national cooperation agreement, but key details remain unresolved, reports Faroese broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya.
Five of the six parties represented in the Løgting (Faroese Parliament) support the idea of a unified policy framework, first proposed last autumn. However, no formal document has been drafted, and the scope of the agreement remains unclear.
The Union Party is the only faction opposing the concept outright. While most parties back the initiative, disagreements persist over its structure—whether it should establish a new alliance, dissolve existing coalitions, or create an alternative form of collaboration.
Negotiations continue as parties debate the practical implementation of the proposed agreement.
