Pig transport overturns near Aalborg with 630 pigs onboard

DR reports that a truck carrying pigs overturned at a roundabout near Tylstrup, north of Aalborg. TV 2 Nord was the first to report the accident.

Some of the pigs were on the road and others remained inside the truck. A veterinarian was on the way to the scene.

The driver had been freed from the vehicle. Incident commander Lars Hessellund said the driver appeared to be doing well under the circumstances.

He was speaking and standing, and appeared to be in good spirits despite the situation, Hessellund said.

Emergency services were at the scene with four vehicles and nine personnel. Police and an ambulance had also arrived.

The accident happened at the roundabout by the E39 Hirtshals Motorway on Luneborgvej. The roundabout was closed and was expected to remain shut until 12.30.
