No agreement reached in Finland’s universities of applied sciences labour dispute
The labour dispute involving Finland’s universities of applied sciences remains unresolved, the National Conciliator’s Office announced on Wednesday, according to a brief report by Finnish public broadcaster Yle.
Mediation talks will resume on Thursday. The negotiations involve employers represented by the Education Employers association and employee unions—the Trade Union of Education (OAJ) and the Union of Professional Engineers in Finland (YTN).
OAJ has issued multiple strike warnings. If no agreement is reached, planned walkouts will take place at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences on 8 April, Tampere University of Applied Sciences on 9 April, and Turku University of Applied Sciences on 15 April.
