Ukraine reports allies have urged reduction in strikes on Russian oil sector
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on Sunday that Ukraine has received signals from its allies to scale back attacks on Russia’s oil infrastructure, according to a report by Reuters.
Zelenskyy did not specify which allies had conveyed the message. He added that if Russia halts its strikes on Ukraine’s energy grid, Ukraine would respond in kind.
The remarks follow a week of intensified Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian oil terminals near the Gulf of Finland. On Sunday, two drones strayed into Finnish airspace, with at least one confirmed to be of Ukrainian origin. Zelenskyy has not publicly addressed the incident involving the drones in Finland.
