A fire erupted during the vote-counting process in Elduvík, one of the first polling stations to report results in the Faroe Islands’ parliamentary election, national broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya reports.

The incident caused delays, though officials managed to quickly tally the votes and submit the results. The disruption evoked memories of past electoral challenges in the village, where time has often seemed to stand still compared to the capital, Tórshavn.

Despite the setback, all votes in Elduvík were successfully counted and recorded.
