Faroese students call for longer breaks and better school conditions
Two 12-year-old students from the Faroe Islands have urged politicians to improve school environments and extend recess times, national broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya reports.
Alberta Højgaard and Amalia Bogadóttir Priess, both in seventh grade at Eysturskúlin school in Tórshavn, spoke to reporters at the country’s largest polling station in Høllin á Hálsi. The two friends, who also play football together, said they had discussed how elections work but also shared their own wishes for political change.
Their key demands include longer breaks between classes and better facilities for free-time activities at school.
