The Finnish Border Guard has procured an anti-drone surveillance system worth approximately €5 million, with 90% of the funding provided by the European Union, the agency announced in a press release on Tuesday.

The system is designed to detect, identify, and—when necessary—disrupt unauthorized drone activity, enhancing Finland’s ability to counter hostile drones, according to the Border Guard.

Finnish company Sensofusion Oy will supply the technology. The contract was signed on Tuesday.

Major General Jari Tolppanen, head of the Border Guard’s technical department, stated that additional investments totaling tens of millions of euros for drone surveillance are currently in preparation.
