Faroe Islands public works agency seeks bids for 2.5 million litres of heating oil
The Faroese public works agency Landsverk has opened a tender for the supply of 2.5 million litres of heating oil for government buildings, asphalt plants, and bitumen storage facilities, Kringvarp Føroya reports.
The contract period is one year, with the option to extend twice for an additional year each time, potentially covering three years in total. The national hospital’s share of the order is excluded, as it will switch to district heating this year.
Landsverk stated the primary goal of the tender is to secure the best possible value for public funds. Under the government’s energy efficiency agreement Orkutøk, the agency is authorised to purchase energy for all state institutions.
Savings generated from the oil procurement will be reinvested in further energy-saving measures for government properties. Any annual savings from such initiatives will also fund additional efficiency projects.
A fixed discount on heating oil will be shared between Landsverk and the purchasing institutions.
