Karmøy killings: two victims identified as man in his 60s and woman in her 50s
Police have confirmed the identities of the two people found dead in Kopervik on Saturday as a man in his 60s and a woman in her 50s, both residents of the Pilehagen assisted living facility, Dagbladet reports.
The bodies were discovered in separate incidents: the first reported to emergency services at 9:29 AM, the second found during a door-to-door inquiry shortly before 1:00 PM. Both will undergo autopsy.
Two men in their 30s were arrested Saturday evening at a Kopervik address on suspicion of murder. Police believe the suspects had a prior relationship with the victims but have no indication that others were involved.
“We have investigated overnight and will continue today,” said police prosecutor Fredrik Martin Soma. “In addition to interrogating the suspects, we will conduct forensic examinations, tactical searches, and witness interviews.”
Police aim to present the suspects for pretrial detention on Monday. The investigation is supported by local resources, the National Criminal Investigation Service (Kripos), and the emergency response unit.
A large area around the facility was cordoned off during the investigation, with armed officers present at the scene.
