A Faroese woman who lost her husband two years ago has highlighted the lack of local-language resources on grief, according to a report by Faroese national broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya.

Mari í Løðuni said she found no Faroese-language materials to help her process her emotions after her loss, forcing her to seek information in other languages. “What feelings and experiences are natural when you’ve lost someone you love? I didn’t know,” she said.

Ann Hermansdóttir, a priest, acknowledged the gap, stating, “We should have had resources in Faroese, based on Faroese experiences, for Faroese people.”
