The Icelandic blue whiting quota of 150,000 tonnes has now been fully fished, with 20% landed in the Faroese port of Vestmanna, according to Faroese public broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya.

Icelandic fishing vessels are now preparing to target black halibut in Faroese waters next month. The Faroese blue whiting quota of 9,446 tonnes was exhausted in February.

A vessel from the Faroese fishing company Gøtunes is currently fishing blue whiting in Icelandic waters.
