Fire spreads through residential building in Færder
Residents in the Norwegian municipality of Færder have been urged to close windows and ventilation systems as a fire spreads through multiple housing units, local police reported on Tuesday.
The blaze broke out in a residential building, with flames visible above the roof and heavy smoke reported, according to the South-Eastern Norway Police District. Emergency services confirmed that firefighting efforts are underway, and neighbouring residents have been evacuated as a precaution.
Operations manager Inge Omli Landsrød stated that all residents at the address have been accounted for, with no reports of missing persons. “We have control over the residents on site and have contacted those not present at the address,” Landsrød wrote in the police log. Fire crews are working to contain the blaze, which has affected several units within the building.
No injuries have been reported.
