Faroe Islands church seeks new parish priest for Suðuroy
The Faroese national church is recruiting a parish priest for the northern deanery of Suðuroy, with applications due by 7 April, Kringvarp Føroya reports. The full-time position, covering four congregations, is expected to begin on 1 August.
The role oversees the parishes of Tvøroyri, Hvalba, Fámjin, and Sandvík, with a prayer house also located in Ørðavík. The church states it seeks a priest who is visible among the congregation, attentive to people’s concerns, and engaged in work across all age groups.
The northern deanery of Suðuroy is one of six administrative districts within the Faroese national church, which operates as the island nation’s established Lutheran denomination.
