A leadership dispute within the Progressive Party’s (Framsóknarflokkurinn) local branch in Garðabær, Iceland, has escalated after a member publicly criticised the selection process as exclusionary, calling it *”just some kind of clique.”*

The comments follow internal disagreements over candidate nominations for the upcoming municipal elections. Critics allege that a small group within the party is controlling decisions without broader consultation. Party officials have not yet responded publicly to the claims.

Framsóknarflokkurinn, a centrist agrarian and liberal party, holds seats in Garðabær’s municipal council but has faced periodic internal divisions over local leadership.
