Authorities have been actively patrolling in the town and around the local school throughout the day, especially during student arrivals and dismissals. This comes after a concerning incident on Monday afternoon when a nine-year-old boy was approached by an unknown man. According to the boy’s mother, the man reportedly claimed that the child’s parents had instructed him to take the boy home. Fortunately, the child refused to go with the man.

Residents expressed their worries following the incident. Ivan Madsen, a local father of two, has spoken to his children about safety. He shared, “We tell them not to go anywhere with anyone unless we’ve arranged it beforehand. It’s unsettling that something like this could happen here; I didn’t expect it.”

Another parent, Michelle Hestkjær, described the situation as “frightening.” She emphasized the desire for children to feel secure as they approach school age and noted that such occurrences should not happen.

The unidentified man remains at large. In response to the incident, the school administration has addressed the matter, ensuring that relevant discussions occur in the classrooms where necessary. Rie Dam Vineke, an administrator at the school, underscored the collective responsibility of both parents and the school to educate children on safety measures, reminding them to stick with individuals they know when traveling to or from school.

The police have announced ongoing patrols in the area in the following days to enhance community safety and provide updates to parents. The suspect was described as wearing a black jacket, dark pants, brown shoes, and dark gloves, with a face covering. Witnesses are encouraged to reach out to law enforcement for further assistance.
