Dadgostar urges opposition parties to collaborate ahead of 2026 elections in Sweden
Dadgostar is urging the four opposition parties—Social Democrats, Green Party, Center Party, and Left Party—to engage in discussions about collaboration as they prepare for the 2026 elections. She emphasizes the importance of this dialogue, stating that voters are eager to learn how these parties intend to work together.
Currently, a clear cooperative plan among the left-leaning parties has not been put forth, and the Center Party has shown reluctance to partner with the Left Party in a governing capacity. However, Dadgostar has expressed a desire for a red-green coalition that includes the Center Party, provided the collective support exceeds 50 percent of the electorate.
She firmly states that the era of the Left Party merely serving as a supportive ally to a Social Democrat-led government must end. “If they want our mandates, we must be part of the government. The time for being a supporting party is over,” she declared. She added that it would be unthinkable for her to approach the previous prime minister, Magdalena Andersson, to ask for a chance to lead without being part of the governing body.
These developments signal a significant push for a transformation in political alliances among the opposition parties as they strategize for the upcoming elections.
