Residents of Sandoy and Suðuroy voice concerns over proposed tunnel plan impacting Sandur village
Residents of Sandoy and Suðuroy have expressed their dissatisfaction with plans to route traffic through a proposed tunnel connecting Suðuroy, particularly through the village of Sandur.
Among the critics is Heri Sverrason, the mayor of Sandur, along with another local, Marianna Vang Simonsen. Both have raised concerns that the government has not adequately considered how this potential traffic will impact the pristine natural environment of the Sandur area.
In response to these concerns, Aksel V. Johannesen has announced that the municipality of Sandur will receive an extended deadline for public feedback, allowing residents to voice their opinions and observations regarding the proposed plans.
