Father expresses concerns over son’s safety amid travel ban in Brazil
A father is deeply anxious regarding his five-year-old son, expressing his fears and concerns about the child’s well-being and current circumstances. The situation began on March 26, when the father, his son, and his new partner attempted to return home from a holiday in Brazil. At the airport, they learned that the son was subject to a travel ban, and the father was also prohibited from contacting him.
As a result, the father could not return to Norway with his son, leaving him distressed about not being able to protect his family. His guilt over the situation consumes him. The underlying issue involves a conflict between the child’s parents, with the mother making serious allegations against the father that have since been dismissed by the Norwegian police as unfounded. The court handling the custody case has ruled that the mother lacks credibility and has lost custody of the child, who now has limited visitation rights.
The case escalated when, shortly after their arrival in Brazil, the child’s grandmother reported the father to local authorities for alleged abuse. Brazilian courts initially sided with the father, granting him the opportunity to bring his son home; however, this decision is now being appealed. The grandmother’s allegations have been deemed strategic by Norwegian courts, raising questions about their legitimacy.
Currently, the child is living with his grandmother in Brazil while the father struggles with the emotional toll of the situation. He has reached out to Norwegian authorities for assistance, emphasizing the critical state of his son, who is poorly cared for. Meanwhile, the father’s concerns grow over the child’s safety and well-being in a difficult environment, leaving him feeling helpless.
