Authorities have reported receiving 35 damage claims following the severe weather that struck overnight and into the morning. The worst of the conditions impacted the Vágir area, accounting for a third of the total claims.

In Steigarbrekku, located in Sandavágur, the roof of a residential building was ripped off, and roof panels were seen flying in the storm. Local law enforcement is urging residents in the area to remain indoors, as these flying materials pose significant risks. It is still too early to assess the extent of damage caused by the detached roof to neighboring properties and structures.

In Miðvágur, the fishing vessel Havbúgvin is reported to be on the verge of capsizing. The ship is hanging precariously on a mooring line, and the local rescue team, along with other agencies, is working diligently to stabilize the situation and prevent the vessel from capsizing. However, their efforts are hampered by ongoing strong winds, according to police updates.

Many roads are obstructed with ice and debris, leading to hazardous conditions. The national transport authority has noted that driving conditions across the country are particularly poor.
