A house in Dalen, Telemark, is up for sale at a symbolic price of just 1 Norwegian krone. This single-family dwelling, constructed in the late 1950s and covering an area of 70 square meters, has not been properly maintained for years. The sellers, Geir Olav Øye and his brother, caution prospective buyers that significant repairs are necessary to restore the property to a livable standard. The house has experienced water damage, resulting in visible mold and rot in various areas.

The property also includes a garage that is in even worse condition than the house itself, filled with debris. Despite its dilapidated state, the listing has drawn considerable interest, with more than a hundred potential buyers expressing a desire to purchase the home.

In their advertisement, Øye invites those with ambition and a strong work ethic to take on this project, emphasizing the need for repair and care. He humorously notes that buyers may find themselves exhausted from the workload ahead. The house includes two bedrooms, a basement, and sits on a plot of approximately 600 square meters.

Øye mentions that no official inspection has been conducted on the house, which means the extent of necessary renovations remains uncertain. He acknowledges the potential this small red house offers but stresses that it requires a dedicated owner willing to invest considerable effort into its restoration.

The garage adds to the offering but is described as perilously close to collapse, supported only by the clutter inside. Since the listing went live, interest has surged, and while many have shown enthusiasm about acquiring the property for one krone, it remains to be seen if this interest translates into actual sales.
