Competition Authority reviews proposed acquisition of Faroese retail association by Danish company

The Competition Authority of the Faroe Islands is now considering a proposed acquisition of the Faroese retail association by a Danish company.

The Authority has received notification that Fredensborg and Omegns Brugsforening plans to take over the Faroese retail association.

This acquisition falls under the merger provisions of the competition law.

The Faroese retail association currently owns and operates six stores.

The Competition Authority is inviting potential comments regarding this takeover, with a deadline set for November 22.
