A number of municipal websites across the country are currently experiencing outages. Custom Publish, which provides publishing solutions to around 100 municipalities, is facing difficulties due to issues with their internet service provider, Global Connect. These connectivity problems were confirmed after being identified around 4 PM on Wednesday, though the extent of the impact on Custom Publish’s clients remains unclear.

In Tjeldsund, the municipality is monitoring the situation and may implement alternative measures if the outage persists. Mayor Robin Ridderseth noted that the municipality has informed residents through social media about the ongoing issue while keeping options open for further preparedness.

In Ibestad, Mayor Jim Kristiansen stated they are optimistic that the websites will be restored shortly. Meanwhile, the municipality is directing its residents to their Facebook and Instagram pages as temporary solutions for communication.

Several municipalities are affected by this technical glitch, including Harstad, Ibestad, Tjeldsund, Målselv, and many others. A review shows that while many smaller municipalities are experiencing issues, larger cities like Tromsø, Trondheim, Oslo, and Bergen remain unaffected.

Custom Publish also manages websites for various other organizations, and similar outages have been reported for sites like Floriss and Region Hadeland. Additionally, on Wednesday afternoon, the University Hospital of Northern Norway declared a red alert status due to mobile network failures.
