Firefighters combat blaze at row house in Tohmajärvi, North Karelia

Firefighters in North Karelia are currently battling a blaze at a row house in the center of Tohmajärvi. Efforts to extinguish the fire are expected to continue into the late night hours. The flames spread from a garbage shed to the roof structures of six residential units. Authorities have stated that the row house is likely to be completely destroyed. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries. Temporary housing will be arranged for the tenants of the affected building as well as residents of two nearby row houses that have lost power and heating due to the incident.
