Fire breaks out at industrial property in Hyvinkää, Finland, with no injuries reported
A fire broke out early Monday morning at an industrial property on Koneenkatu in Hyvinkää, covering an area of approximately 500 square meters, according to the Central Uusimaa Rescue Department. Firefighting efforts at the site have concluded, but monitoring will continue into the morning. Fortunately, there are no reports of injuries.
The rescue department reported that 18 units were involved in battling the blaze. According to local sources, the fire occurred at Koneenkatu 11, a location known to be the headquarters for far-right groups in Finland, referred to as Otsola. These groups reportedly use the space as a “cultural center,” hosting various joint events.
Inside the property, there were some items, but the rescue department indicated that the building did not appear to be in active use. As a result of the fire, the property is currently deemed unusable. Although the building was not completely destroyed, it sustained significant fire damage.
The condition of the structure will be assessed further in daylight. Investigations into the cause and origin of the fire will be conducted in collaboration with the police, according to the rescue department.
