City majority completes all 31 first-100-day tasks

The city council majority formed by the Independence Party, Viðreisn and the Progressive Party has completed all 31 tasks it pledged to finish during its first 100 days in office, mbl.is reports.

Thursday marks 100 days since the new city council held its first meeting on June 2. Progress is tracked on the website verkefnalisti.is, which states that all of the majority’s first-100-day tasks have been completed.

The measures include guaranteeing uninterrupted opening hours at after-school centres until 5pm on weekdays, removing rules setting a maximum number of parking spaces for new buildings, and reducing the number of middle managers and administrative overhead in the city.

The majority aims to complete 73 tasks within 12 months of its first council meeting. One of those tasks has already been completed: extending the opening hours of the city’s swimming pools.

A further 86 tasks are scheduled for completion by the end of the term. One has already been completed: strengthening homework assistance in cooperation with voluntary organisations and residents.
