Police arrest seven individuals for driving under the influence in Reykjavik
The police in the Greater Reykjavik area apprehended two drivers last night on suspicion of drunk driving following two separate traffic accidents. Additionally, five more drivers were arrested in Reykjavik for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
The suspects involved in the accidents were taken into custody in separate incidents, one occurring in Árbær, Reykjavik, and the other in Mosfellsbær. Both drivers are suspected of being intoxicated while operating their vehicles. The driver in Árbær was also reported to have been driving without a valid license. This individual fled the scene after colliding with another vehicle but was arrested shortly thereafter. There are no details available about the number or severity of injuries sustained in these incidents.
In another report, police arrested one person in connection with a fight involving two individuals in downtown Reykjavik. A second person was detained after a large brawl in the city center, but was later released following a discussion with officers.
Furthermore, an incident of burglary was reported in Hafnarfjörður, which is currently under investigation by the authorities.
