Jukka Seppänen, chairman of the JYP board, plans to file a complaint with the police regarding the actions of deputy councilor Päivi Korpivaara. This initiative follows Korpivaara’s appeal to the Administrative Court of Hämeenlinna concerning the Hippos project. The information was revealed in an open letter from Seppänen published today in Keskisuomalainen.

Korpivaara, who was elected as a deputy councilor for the Green Party in the last municipal elections and has since left the party, stated over the weekend that she had appealed to the Administrative Court regarding the leasing finance decision for the planned sports center at Hippos.

Due to this appeal, the €211 million construction project is at risk of being delayed or potentially derailed entirely. Seppänen intends to investigate whether Korpivaara’s actions indicate signs of extortion.

According to Seppänen, during discussions with Korpivaara, she demanded that he arrange for a change in the board of Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences and execute the dismissals of Mikko Salminen and Eino Leisimo. Salminen serves as the administrative director at JAMK, while Leisimo is the director of education for the city of Jyväskylä.
