Negotiation talks resume as parties aim for resolution in Workers’ Union dispute in Faroe Islands

Negotiation efforts between the Starvsfelagið (Workers’ Union), the Ministry of Finance, and the Local Government Employers’ Association commenced this morning at 9 a.m.
On Friday, the Mediation Office held discussions with the Workers’ Union, and on Monday, meetings took place with the Ministry of Finance and the Local Government Employers’ Association.
The mediator expressed optimism about being able to present a proposal for mediation in a reasonably short timeframe.
To date, the parties involved have conducted six negotiation meetings. However, negotiations broke down on October 31, prompting the involvement of the Mediation Office.
