Central Finland Welfare Area announces elimination of 330 positions following cooperation negotiations
The cooperation negotiations that began in August for the Central Finland Welfare Area have concluded. The welfare area has announced the elimination of 330 positions. It has been reported that around half of these reductions will occur through business transfers. As a result of the transfer, approximately 130 positions will be cut when the technical maintenance of Hospital Nova is outsourced, meaning existing employees will move to the new service provider.
Additional staff reductions will come from retirements, unfilled positions, and a critical assessment of the need for temporary contracts. The central services plan to eliminate at least one service manager position and three managerial-level roles. The administration and support services will be scaled back to align with financial capabilities.
Social and health services will now be organized into three responsibility areas instead of four, and the number of service areas will decrease from seventeen to ten. This restructuring implies that there will be a maximum of eight managerial and lead roles eliminated, alongside up to ten specialist positions.
Further updates will follow.
