Swedish government approves only one of 14 planned wind farm projects due to security concerns
The Swedish government has decided on 14 wind farm projects, but only one has received approval: Poseidon, located off Stenungsund. The remainder were denied due to security political concerns. Recently, the armed forces provided an analysis indicating that wind power would hinder Sweden’s defense capabilities. According to Busch, this analysis makes it impossible to construct a significant number of wind farms in the Baltic Sea. “I believe most people understand that today’s announcement is a tough decision,” he stated.
