Over 4,000 people gathered at Tórsvøllur for the final of the Løgmanssteypið, creating a peaceful atmosphere in the capital, Tórshavn, last night.
According to law enforcement, the windy and inclement weather may have contributed to the calm.
However, police reported four incidents related to the new fireworks law, enacted just a year ago. These involved individuals igniting emergency flares inside the stadium, for which they will face fines. Additionally, one man was apprehended for being unruly on the premises and will also receive a penalty for violating stadium regulations.
In a separate incident, a traffic accident occurred yesterday near the entrance of the Eysturoy Tunnel on the white sand side when a car did not yield to oncoming traffic, resulting in a collision with another vehicle that failed to stop in time. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the damaged cars caused a brief disruption in traffic until the area was cleared after about thirty minutes.
