Marius Borg Høiby faces multiple charges including bodily harm and vandalism in Norway
The police have notified the Royal Court, which subsequently informed the Crown Prince Couple about an incident involving Marius Borg Høiby and a potential arrest. The police had previously alerted Høiby prior to the arrest but chose not to apprehend him at his residence and have never conducted a search there.
It has been stated that there is an ongoing police investigation, and officials have refrained from commenting further on the matter for the sake of those involved. Høiby was reported to have been contacted by the police before he was arrested near his home on Skaugum.
Marius Borg Høiby is facing several charges, including bodily harm, vandalism, threats, reckless behavior, and violating a restraining order against an ex-girlfriend. Additional allegations detail abusive conduct toward former partners Juliane Snekkestad and Nora Haukland, and he is also accused of making threats towards another individual.
This follows an incident on August 4, when he was charged in relation to acts of violence in Oslo. Since then, further charges related to physical violence, domestic abuse, and threats have been added to his case.
Both VG and Aftenposten previously reported that Crown Princess Mette-Marit warned Høiby about his impending arrest. Reports suggest she took steps to tidy up her son’s residence before the police action, though it remains unclear who informed her of the arrest.
The Police Security Service (PST) confirmed they were notified by Oslo police regarding Høiby’s arrest. The Justice Department was also informed, and while they took notice of the information, it was indicated that the situation would be handled by the police without further escalation.
