Former member of parliament Ano Turtiainen faces charges of inciting hatred in Helsinki

Former Member of Parliament Ano Turtiainen faces charges of inciting hatred against a group of people. The prosecutor, following the direction of the National Prosecutor’s Office, has brought three charges against Turtiainen related to his posts on Twitter during his time as a parliamentarian.

Turtiainen was a member of the “Power Belongs to the People” party before his departure from parliament. The charges center around writings he made, which are alleged to have incited hatred. The case will be heard in the Helsinki District Court.
