Six arrested in largest methamphetamine seizure in Reykjavik, Iceland

Last week, nearly six kilograms of methamphetamine were seized by police in the capital region of Iceland, leading to the arrest of six individuals in connection with the case. The police reported that this operation revealed the largest quantity of methamphetamine, also known as “Crystal,” ever confiscated in a single incident.

Five suspects are currently in custody, suspected of smuggling the drugs into the country via a ship. Details from the police indicate that one suspect was released after questioning. Authorities conducted house searches at multiple locations in the capital area as part of their investigation.

The operation was supported by Customs, the Office of the District Prosecutor, and the Special Operations Unit of the National Commissioner of the Icelandic Police. This crackdown highlights ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and ensure public safety in Iceland.
