Sanoma reports decline in operational EBIT and revenue with notable performance in Finland
Media and learning materials company Sanoma reported a decrease in its operational EBIT for the third quarter, falling to 170 million euros from 179 million euros in the same period last year. The company’s revenue also declined, reaching 540 million euros, down from 580 million euros the previous year.
The decline in the learning materials segment was attributed to lower sales in Spain. Conversely, Sanoma’s media operations in Finland showed improvements in performance. The decrease in revenue for the learning materials division was primarily impacted by the planned termination of less profitable distribution agreements in the Netherlands and Belgium. Meanwhile, the slight reduction in revenue from Finnish media operations was mainly due to recent small-scale business sales.
