Fintraffic warns of increased accident risk in Finland due to poor driving conditions
Fintraffic has issued a warning about an increased risk of accidents on the roads due to poor driving conditions. A weather front bringing rain and snow is expected to arrive in Finland on Thursday evening. Central and eastern regions of the country could see snow accumulation of 5 to 10 centimeters.
“This is the latest call to switch to winter tires and to allow more time for travel. Itโs also important to maintain adequate safe distances on the road to prevent rear-end collisions,” said Sanna Piilinen, head of the road traffic center at Fintraffic.
According to Fintraffic, the line between rain and sleet roughly follows the Tampere-Kouvola axis, but snow or sleet may also occur further south.
