Man arrested in connection with hand grenade attack near Israeli embassy in Hellerup, Copenhagen

A 50-year-old man is facing accusations of involvement in the preparations for an attack that involved throwing two hand grenades near the Israeli embassy in Hellerup, Copenhagen, on October 2. This information was disclosed during a court hearing at the Copenhagen City Court, where prosecutors requested the man’s continued detention.

During a closed session on October 15, the man was remanded in custody. As the proceedings were held behind closed doors, the public was not privy to the specific charges at that time, but the prosecutor agreed to reveal some details during a subsequent court hearing.

Authorities allege that the 50-year-old provided a significant amount of cash to one of the two young Swedish nationals who are already in custody for throwing the grenades. Reports suggest that part of this money was used to purchase an electric scooter, which was utilized in connection with the hand grenades at the embassy.
